GIBTM, the premier three-day exhibition for the global meetings and incentives industry, (MICE) is taking place in Abu Dhabi from March 13-15, 2007.

Net Group Expands business to tap Australia , New Zealand Tourism Market

DUBAI, UAE – Net Group, leading private Destination Management Company in Dubai has announced the appointment of Australia-based Ian Phillips Marketing as the Net Group Representative Office for both Australia and New Zealand with effect from October 2006.

Ian Phillips Marketing represents the hospitality industry, and is a member of the Australian Conference and Events Bureau.

“Representing Net Group in Australia and New Zealand, Ian Phillips Marketing will concentrate on developing MICE business into Dubai and the region. They will also work on leisure programs and set up agreements with agents in both Australia and New Zealand,” says David Milican, Group General Manager, Net Group.

Ian Phillips and Anthony Luxton are the pivotal force behind Ian Phillips Marketing. They use a consultative approach to assist clients in areas of sales representation, sponsorship acquisition and evaluation, and business development. Backed by an extensive career in tourism, leisure and hospitality industry, Ian formed his own consultancy - Ian Phillips Marketing in December 2001.

In December 2003, Ian Phillips joined forces with Anthony Luxton to expand and strengthen their capabilities, expertise, and global networks which they can use to deliver successful outcomes for clients in the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure markets.

Anthony Luxton is a professional tourism/hospitality and leisure executive within the Australian and International markets in both the public and private sectors. He has lived and worked in Japan and conducted business extensively throughout the Asian and Pacific regions including the Middle East, India and China.

Net Group appoints Director for MICE division


As part of Net Group’s strategy to develop MICE business from around the globe,

Net Group, Dubai has appointed Mrs. Paddy Paul to the position of Director, MICE.

Paddy Paul will link the two departments of Incentive Productions and Net Conference and Conventions under Net Group in order to strengthen the MICE team, handling this very important sector of one of the Group’s core divisions.

She will concentrate on developing MICE business in Dubai, where Net Group has its Head Office, as well as in Abu Dhabi, Oman and Qatar where the Group has its branch offices.

Paddy Paul is no stranger to Net Group. In 1997 she had started off as Manager, ‘Incentive Productions Concepts.’ IP was just developing as Net Group’s corporate incentives wing. ‘Net Conference and Conventions’ was then established as a Professional Congress Organiser engaged in organizing Meetings, Conferences and Events. NCC and IP found feet in the emerging MICE market, and have come a long way since.

In 2003 Paddy Paul had to fly back to her hometown in Sri Lanka. “ I was always in touch with the tourism industry in Dubai. A turn of events brought me back to Net Group, and I am delighted to be working here again,” remarked the new MICE Director.


 

Net Group Signs up as Official Ground handler for ATM 2007 and 2008

Dubai, UAE - Net Group, leading private Destination Management Company in Dubai has been acknowledged yet again as the official Destination Management Company of Reed Travel Exhibitions for the prestigious Arabian Travel Market, 2007 and 2008.

The year 2007 will be the 14th consecutive year of partnership signed by Net Group for ATM, the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism exhibition. The agreement was signed at Cairo where the seventh edition of the Mediterranean Travel Fair was held from September 5 to 7, organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions.

Net Group to tap tourism attractions in Al Ain

Net Group, leading tourism and travel company in Dubai is to launch unique travel product that will showcase the archaeological wealth and natural bounty of Al Ain, one of the seven emirates in the UAE.

Net Group Vice Chairman Ali Abu Monassar made the announcement during Arabian Travel Market 2006, the region’s premier travel exhibition that drew a record number of participants.

“Al Ain abounds in archaeological wealth and natural beauty that is yet to be exposed through tour packages. We will be the first to launch a unique tourism product in Al Ain, that would offer new and interesting tourism attractions,” Ali explained.

Net Group is also building new desert camps in Abu Dhabi and Oman, Ali said. “In Dubai alone, we have five desert camps of our own, with various capacities, and we entertained 2000 visitors at a time in our largest camp site,” he said.
